    When the village is on fire, a sieve will not substitute for a fleet of fire engines. Sometimes incremental change won't EVER scale to address the problem.

      and I was happy where I was, so it's not like I was escaping anything, but yes, it's better.
      Norwegians are generally good peaceful people.  They don't see each other as potential enemies as Americans too often do.  The government actually seems to work.  The economy is strong, access to healthcare is a given, your children are safe and can get a free education to the extent of their capabilities.  The air and water are clean.  The infrastructure is solid.  Nearly everyone owns their own home.  Etc etc etc.
      America can do as well, but it will have to terminate the corporate overlords first.  Good luck with that.

          but the summer is glorious (if you don't require 80 degrees) and the strawberries are the best ever.
          Norway is a long country - as long as the US Atlantic coastline - so the climate varies some.  Bergen is wet, Kristiansand is sunnier, etc.
