  •  When I first heard the non-story (17+ / 0-)

I was po'ed too about his saying he served in Vietnam.  However, as the videos show, he has repeatedly stated that he served in the reserves and that he did not serve in Vietnam.

In fact, at the beginning of the speech that the NYT cites, he stated that while a marine, he did not serve in Vietnam, and only later did he have a slip of the tongue.

As AG, he has been extremely supportive of veterans concerns, and has spoken often in front of veterans groups.

    This is a non-story.

It's about time I changed my signature.

    •  It's like the press is out to get him (5+ / 0-)

This is the worst quote taken out of context that I have ever seen.

It reminds me of 2000 when the press started that story that Al Gore is a serial exaggerator.

I don't think that they are really out to get him.  That would take planning and forethought.  More than anything, it reminds me of Dana Carvey as the Church Lady doing the superior dance.

Wide receiver, formerly of the Vikings, now of the Patriots.

He's been dogged for years for saying "I play when I want to play." But if you read the whole interview, you'll see that what he meant was "I play because I want to play."
