    He is now thinking about his contest against Lieberman in 2012 -- and the hopes that by patiently waiting his turn he will gain favor with party officials.

    But he couldn't come out and say that he cares more about what a few party insiders think than what the constituents of CT think.  So he turned to "money" which only helps his populace cred next time around.

      because solidarity will allow the indecisive middle to think that McMahon will consolidate the Fairfield $ and the 'bagger reactionaries who are really hurting with higher gasoline/energy prices, foreclosures, and general fear.
