    If your kid had a violent history or had mental problems, then he swipes a kitchen knife and stabs a neighbor, I can see the parents being held liable for not taking reasonable precautions.

    I'm confused though how the "owner" and the "parent" wouldn't be the same person.

      or mental problems are exceptions to the rule and should be judged on their own merits.  They should not be considered the standard by which laws and regulations are written and enacted.  

      Don't believe what the politicians do, don't believe what they say, all they want to do is fuck you and get fat on their pay.
