  •  And your point is? (6+ / 0-)

When does the volume of laws on a subject determine the adequacy of the laws?

    •  It's simple (0+ / 0-) my cite shows, there are about 300 state and federal laws pertaining to the manufacture, design, sale, purchase and possession of firearms.

Spread over 50 states, that's 6 per state.  As the study notes, some states have more--some less.

KV said there exists a "myriad" of gun laws.  'Myriad' usually means 'countless' or 'large number.'

The fact is guns are barely regulated which is why we, in the world's most powerful and prosperous nation, enjoy a gun violence problem the equal of many third world nations.

      •  I think your "cite" is bullshit. (6+ / 0-)

There are more than 30 state laws here and I didn't even attempt to cover city or county ordinances let alone federal.  I find it unlikely that there are any states that don't cover firearms at least as well as Colorado does so this idea that each state averages 6 gun control laws is nothing more than contrived horse puckey.

Don't believe what the politicians do, don't believe what they say, all they want to do is fuck you and get fat on their pay.

          research is less than good.

AND WEAPONS" actually contains two articles, one to cover offenses related to firearms and weapons and one cover CCW permits.

In fact, many of the weapons addressed in the first article aren't firearms--they have to do with things like stun guns and components to make chemical, biological or other expolsive devices.

Of course, you're mush smarter than the folks from JHU and Harvard.
