    is still remembered here as the man who ran against the state income tax as a candidate, then shoved it through as a one-term governor. Given that, I'd rather see him stay quiet. Or just not see him at all.

      given Connecticut's finances in 1990, the state needed a progressive tax rather than the regressive sales taxes that it had relied on previously.

        with you about that, but if I'm not mistaken, I'm in a minority of Nutmeggers on that. IMHO, a Weicker endorsement of a Dem candidate could do more harm than good. Could be wrong and hope I am, but there it is.
