  •  But his Vietnam remarks have hurt him (0+ / 0-)

and it may well take a vastly inferior opponent like McMahon to win this for him. Whether due to their actual ineptness or their simply not being good at optics, Dems still tend to win all too often due to Repubs' utter lameness.

That's not what all the data is showing.

    •  I dont disagree with that, in general (1+ / 0-)

but, if anything, that opposite might be true here. Blumenthal, even has a 15 point lead over Rob Simmons in this poll, who actually served in Vietnam and earned two Bronze Star Medals. The reason, I think, is not because of the GOP candidate, but the popularity Blumenthal has built up during his time as Attorney General.

Blumenthal has a long and distinguished career in public service.  It's also very clear from the video the NYT so kindly posted that he has not made a habit of claiming that he served in Vietnam.  McMahon has zero record of doing anything but running a business that encourages its employees to drug and mutilate themselves...and who knows if she actually does run it at all?  For all we know Vince McMahon is actually calling the shots and Linda simply signs off for legal reasons.
