  •  The EPA is, and will be (7+ / 0-)

liable for this. Law suits on the use of this dispersant are inevitable. More importantly is that folks are arming themselves with information that cuts through the deliberate murkiness of the administration's oversight of BP. This, I predict, will destroy the career of Lisa Jackson, as it should.

    •  that was not really my goal (8+ / 0-)

      when writing this,
(in fact, made me think twice about it)

But I just want effective Govt.

and I just want the Transparency,
      a thriving Democracy needs.

      Those are my Goals ...

Oh and to keep folks informed too.

      •  I'm speaking for myself here.... (6+ / 0-)

Would removing Lisa Jackson...btw, because of this growing scandal of the use of Corexit, serve the people with more transparency? my view.

Lisa Jackson was one of Obama's better picks (IMO, YMMV)

            •  EPA head won't be micromanaging toxicity studies. (0+ / 0-)

to expect that is unreasonable.  Policy is for X toxicity to be accepted, rather than going one by one through the list.  There are tens of thousands of chemicals and formulations on lists like this.

To ask for EPA head to be canned would be to throw out the administrator for the policy details they should not be visiting in detail.  No doubt someone is looking at the dispersant in greater detail.

The relevant toxicity is to people using full strength.  The dispersant will become diluted in the oil and in the water- to levels much below a ppm, at least if it actually disperses as intended.

regarding Administrator Jackson were referencing the situation of the EPA ordering BP to cease the use of Corexit, BP refusing, and EPA knuckling under and approving use of less volume of Corexit.
