I've done other diaries b/f. Email me the particulars with
"DKos mothership" in the subject line. It will automatically fall into my spam filter, but I will see it there. I'll set it up to go as you as you email me what I need to do.

I'll send an email about the details.

      1. Scheduling. Plan to publish your new child when the current child gets to about 300 comments. Coordinate with whoever is tending the Mothership about it, in the Mothership diary or by email or whatever.
      1. Preparing your new diary. Copy n paste your content from the current child. It can be easiest to copy source html from the child, paste it in a word processor, remove <p>, </p>, <div>, </div>, and <br> tags, and use that. It saves linking hassle. Adjust the list of previous children to account for your new one. Add any new content of your own at the bottom of the diary.
      1. Publishing. At the proper time, publish your diary.
      1. Notifying. In a comment, tell the people in the old child to move to your new one, with a link to yours. Also leave a notification comment in the Mothership, with the new link. Whoever is tending the Mothership will update the Mothership to point to your child.
      1. End of shift. It's nice to edit your diary when the child after yours gets published. Just redirect people to the new one, near the top of your intro, where people will see it. This isn't necessary, though.
