  •  The only thing we need to do come November is (14+ / 0-)

show footage of Republicans chanting DRILL, BABY, DRILL at their national convention alongside footage of the disaster in the Gulf.

Question:  Want more of the same?
Answer:  Stay home this election and let Republicans win.

It's Big Oil's Disaster, no matter how much the opposition wishes it was Obama's.

    •  Drill, baby, drill. Spill, baby, spill. (7+ / 0-)

And don't pay any attention to the elephant in the room, which is that 50% of our energy use could be saved via conservation and / or efficiency.

They'll have the AC in their convention hall and hotel rooms set to 55 degrees. Because, after all, "conservation means too warm in the summer and too cold in the winter" - Reagan.

        •  Yeah..not happy about that...BUT (6+ / 0-)

at least the GOP does not ignore the Floridians in their state. The Democrats not only ignore us, but as I found out in a recent phone conversation with someone from the DSCC, they can't even tell a former governor of California from a Florida governor! The poor lady on the phone actually defended DSCC's involvement in Florida by saying they helped with 'that governor that was recalled'.

Would be nice if the Democrats would spend just a fraction of the time and money here. Its actually the perfect time, the chance to help the people of Florida who are going to be badly affected by this oil spill...but all I hear are crickets.

Then you can get out canvassing and phone banking and at least know you are not making an error.

You need your help, not just the rest of us Dems.

This Saturday the OFA and Florida Dems open the 2010 campaign season and they need your help.

Include helpful information so that people can take action quickly and easily.

It isn't enough just to mention a good idea.

For example, The Florida Democratic Party needs money and volunteers for the upcoming election. Here's their website:

all they did was fight among each other. The small group I knew were great folks but as you expand out, it all is such a mess. I ended up getting phone calls from one person supporting someone else locally and trying to get me to support their guy/gal. I finally just got sick of it all. Instead I worked for Obama's people and I had a great time and felt useful. Life in stressful enough and I don't need that sort of stress in my life at the moment. I want to make a difference, not play politics in a small pond.

    •  Not enough. (5+ / 0-)

We here in Florida have to get rid of the gerrymandering that has given us an entrenched Republican majority in a state that according to Gallup leans Democratic. We're trying to get two citizen-sponsored "fair district" amendments on the ballot, while Republicans are, as usual, trying to muddy the waters by offering their own amendments or bringing lawsuits to prevent fair districting.

As long as we have these entrenched incumbents legally redrawing districts to keep themselves in power, it won't matter how ridiculous and out of touch they are. They'll still win.
