    and I'm certainly not advocating for going back to the land. The exact opposite, I'm a big advocate for Ecocities. Thing is, if we redesigned our cities and invested in the kind of infrastructure changes that would allow more access by proximity, we would need neither cars nor horse carts in our inner cities. Well, we'd still need some but we could cut out so much wasted energy that it would make a huge dent.

    Live life. Not too fast. Mostly walk. (or bike)

      It would be interesting to discuss this in more detail.  I also advocate a 60% reduction in human population, which can be achieved in two generations via equality for women worldwide and universal access to subsidized birth control.  

      And I'm going to practice what I preach (back to the land) as soon as I have the means to do it (a couple of years away).  

      One can have sustainable technologies to ease the physical labor.  Backbreaking toil is not necessary.
