    cases. What we're watching now is the consequence of failing to do or at least act on such thinking by BP, Haliburton etc. , and of course government regulation.

      Worse case scenario, it says, is that it may never be capped, plugged, and could go on for a decade.

      Also Newsweek/Bloomberg mentions former BP estimate of deepwater leaks of 162,000 BPD.

      In its original exploration plan for the Macondo well about 40-miles from the Louisiana coast, BP estimated the worst-case scenario for an oil spill was 162,000 barrels of crude a day, according to a filing with the U.S. Interior Department’s Minerals Management Service.
