  •  I read a story yesterday (18+ / 0-)

that one of the oil companies has it's hands on Lake Michigan. It is already there, but will not be doing something with the tar sands and dumping tons of foul water into the lake, killing it. It has a lot of damage already.
I really don't understand why the companies even do this? Where do they plan on their grandchildren living one day? Or are they such psychopaths that they really don't care?
People have been marching, writing, calling for decades for our 'government' to do something about this. All to no avail.
After what the big corporations have done to other countries like Niger, Brazil, and other places that they have ruined for profit, it may just be that it was the US's turn to see the damage they have wrought on the rest of the world.
There is nothing more to add. We the people are impotent. We can vote, but we can't get all the crooks out. The ones we do, just become lobbyists and then they know the backdoor ways to continue to screw us.
If there is a god, I think maybe it has just had enough of us ruining this beautiful planet. Man has been fighting since we learned to walk. We can now kill people from thousands of miles away with Predator Drones. Kill people who happen to live where our oil companies want their resources. And we the people put up the money and worst of all, the soldiers are the ones laying down their lives for them.
What they hell can we do anymore?
I am going for a walk with my aging dog. I am going to enjoy this beautiful day with her while I still have her.
Peace people. It was fun while it lasted.

The image of America will never again be the image of revolution, freedom and democracy, but the image of violence and militarism." MLK
