  •  I'm a Resident Evil man, myself (0+ / 0-)

But I do love the Silent Hill games. Played 2 (1 was impossible to find after the movie came out) and 4 (The Room, an uber-creepy entry in the franchise).
Pretty much any good survival horror is my thing.

    •  I love 'em both (0+ / 0-)

But I've always found Silent Hill more appealing because I find that series's emphasis on the normal and everyday going horribly wrong a lot more chilling than the Resident Evil-style focus on more traditional sci-fi conceits like mad scientists and bioengineering.

Deoliver47 was right and deserves some apologies.

      •  I think RE draws me in (0+ / 0-)

for the zombie angle -- being stuck in a zombie movie in which the zombies, honestly, are the least of your freakin' problems. I do love me some zombies.

But Silent Hill brings geniune creepy horror ... The Room (IV) is a masterpiece of it. I'd like to see the initial ones re-done for new platforms (as RE did), if they haven't been already.

I think they're more a question of what mood I'm in, but my kneejerk brand loyalty is still RE.
