I think Obama wants to do the right thing, but he's afraid that corporations, with their enormous power, could simply bring the country down. He's trying to kiss their ass, but I don't think it's because he's corrupt.

I don't think Obama is corrupt either  I think he's clueless.  Because of that, I don't see the "lightbulb" flicking on anytime soon.

There's a deep rich world within his mind that doesn't seem to connect with the real world.  He doesn't appear to understand power or the power of the presidency or the day to day grind of what it involves.  He goes through the motions, but there doesn't seem to be any "there there".  And the true tragedy is he is probably one of the most gifted speakers in our time.

He is a committee chairman and a dealmaker.  Unfortunately for him, he's president at a time which calls for a combination of Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, and Harry Truman.

I see Obama as a transformative figure in that he broke the race barrier, but I think his presidency will be looked back on as "what might have been".

He is fighting the right wing media, mega-corporations with unlimited political contributions, astro-turf teabaggers, racists, military-industrial complex, massive deficits, huge unemployment, eight years of Bush putting cronies in the government from top to bottom who's goal is to destroy the governments ability to function, DINOs, NO only Republicans...

And he is clueless??!!?? I do not agree with everything he has done but you have completely lost the ability to see the big picture. Context...please.

        •  Fighting? Are you delusional? :) (0+ / 0-)

No, Obama talks about fighting and writes about fighting.  But, he fights for nothing.  He cuts deals and occasionally manages to outsmart himself.
