  •  I just watched this with my son (16+ / 0-)

Pine Ridge is his home, we could recognize some of the people and places of course, but it was much too short to tell the real story of our people struggling to survive and maintain their lives in a place with constant, endemic, 85% unemployment. Twice that of Afganistan or Haiti. It didn't show the brave ones fighting against the odds to save the people and it couldn't show the community after community where the last housing that was built was in the 50's and 60's so everything is dilapidated and worn out.

I suppose everyone who sees this touching video of our homelands will wonder how to help. And the other ndns here have posted some contact numbers for you. When you call them please tell them one thing... WE NEED JOBS, that's it, the one and only solution to our so called "plight".

Only jobs will cure the poverty, the drugs and alcohol, the apathy, the teen suicides and children having children. Only work will restore the pride it takes a nation to survive, to restore a fathers need to provide for his family. That's it, that's everything we need to end a century of hell for my people.
