not the rest of the world.  When the Turkish president in a speach says he is sick of your lies,  you are in a bit of trouble

      http://www.youtube.com/...

He also announced publically that Turkey intends to send a military escort with the next aid convoy set to leave in a few weeks.

Good luck going up against a frigate destroyer Israeli with your pissy lil navy.

You might want to check out Janes website to see Turkey's "pissy lil navy" but I do not think that is the point.  Turkey also has an airforce and long range missiles.  But the point is the behavior of Israel.

      •  Uh, it's either a frigate or a destroyer. (1+ / 0-)

        Can't be both.

The names for the naval ships, basically referred to the size and capabilities of a warship, with Frigate being the smallest and least well armed to the Cruiser being the heaviest and best armed (beside the historical battleships and pocket battle ships (a kind of extremely well armed crusier) of course).

Frigates generally have anti-submarine and a light escort focus as their main tasks, with a capability in the anti surface and anti air roles, but with a lesser degree of capability than larger ships.

Destroyers are normally anti-submarine, anti-surface and anti-air capable and perform all 3 of these roles to a high degree of capability. Cruisers normally perform anti-surface and anti-air to a high degree of capability, but with only a lesser degree of capability or focus on the anti-submarine role.

Frigates these days weigh anything from 2000 - 5000 tons, Destroyers are in the range of 5000 - 8000 and cruisers normally 8000 tons and above. Few Navies actually operate ships as capable and as large as Cruisers these days, with most forces concentrating their surface action forces on Frigates, with perhaps a few destroyers.

The problem with a Turkish naval escort is that it cannot enter Israeli waters through which a flotilla would have to travel. Wouldn't want to violate International Law!

Please provide a chart which shows why they cannot get to Gaza port without entering Israeli terrritorial waters. Why can they not enter Palestinian territorial waters from the 5 mile limit and from there to the port?

I believe you are trolling these diaries with an assertion that no Palestinian territorial waters exist and are therefore denying the existence of that nascent state.

        •  frigate is a class of ships (0+ / 0-)

this is what they could put into protecting the convoy, Israel has nothing to counter it in their navy

with enough decency and backbone to refuse to participate in trying to cover up this crime?

There may be hope for America yet.

Alot of junkies would be headed for rehab if they blew a vein this badly. Apparently, oil is better than smack.

    •  Three quarters of Congress (0+ / 0-)

calling for an end to public criticism of Israel

Have they set the sentencing guidelines yet?

One can be sure the penalties for publicly criticizing Israel will be far harsher than for ordering torture or illegally spying on American citizens.
