    And other experts, we've been able to look at causes and effects and generate true discussion-something that newspapers and tv shows seem to have forgotten.

    Twenty minutes ago I was reading an article up on nytimes.com about the nuke non-option. I came to the end of the article, shook my head to clear it, and went back, but I'd read it right the first time-the author had mentioned the opposition but failed completely to provide a single reason why those people are opposed, wasting space instead on the suggestions of crackpots. All it said was that people don't know what could happen, and the very weight of the space given over to the crazies makes them and their suggestions seem just that more viable.

    We wonder why children don't read? Really? With the news filled with such mind-numbing lack of intellectual curiosity?
