    I think that cars need more restrictions because they have more potential to harm.  It's true that while bikes can injure and even kill others a car has a lot easier time of it.  I'm more worried about the effect on others, as opposed to the effect on the operator of the vehicle.

    I refuse to represent my political beliefs using numbers. It isn't accurate, nor is it helpful. But I'm around a -10 on both scales.

      If there is an accident between two modes of transportation, the heavier one is considered responsible.

      Truck v. car

      car v. bike

      bike v. pedestrian.

      It has really helped define transportation responsibility. Everyone must defer to the more venerable. Pedestrians are at the top of the pyramid.

      Worth studying for application in crowded cities in North America.

        implemented here.  Especially if we can rework urban transportation so that buses and bikes are further separated.  Muni rails are one of the worst things for bikes here in San Francisco.

      I think we can agree that a little extra attention to the Golden Rule all around would all our health and safety.  Peace.
