    Now the difficulty is deciding the amount of oil / gas ratio but I have always been calculating it at a 50 - 50 mixture.

      but someone else with much more knowledge on that end would guess better..

      yellow versus red jelly beans is a bit more tricky..admittedly so...

      but I been thinking 1/3 gas.

        determine the oil/gas ratio after is has been 'homogenized' from the explosive decompression.

        If you can recall the outflow from the end of the damaged riser, it came out in two different colored plumes. One black and one the brownish color we are seeing at present.

        I would venture to say the ratio could be expressed by looking at the color of the plume. It would have to be lit with a known light source. The process is called spectrophotometry.

        What is missing is baseline data.
