Holy shit cow! Did your potential donor make his or her incredible, life-giving offer because of the diary you wrote recently?

I'm praying right now. And my fingers and toes are crossed. And I've put the Nurse Kelley hex on your veins, telling them to lie still and take it.

    Woo-hoo!

It could be because of a diary I wrote long ago, or one I wrote recently, or because I've made friends here and there, or because we adopted a dog (who is now back at home with his original family). Yep, someone in Washington, another Kossack, offered to get tested because we gave a home to his really great dog, whom we felt blessed to include in our four-legged family members, and whom we were thrilled to be able to take back and reunite with his original family when we learned that they had been able to rent a place where they could have this lovely big rough collie. The dog, Lennon, was overjoyed to be back home with them; you could see it in him, and in them. If the situation had been reversed and the dog had been one of our three retrievers, it's what we would have hoped for, so of course we brought him back. But anyway, that whole episode led to the male half of that couple, who's a Kossack, offering to get tested. Exactly who it is that I'm being crosstyped with is not something I can find out unless said Anonymous Kossack wants to pipe up; inquiries have so far resulted in replies of "Nope, not me", so I don't know. The transplant program will naturally not tell me a damn thing, just "go get tested on X day". They wouldn't even tell me that the original person with whom I was to be crosstyped was my sister, even when I already knew it. They go as far as they have to to protect the privacy of a potential donor, but it does lead to the patient being in the dark.

Living kidney donor needed; type B, O, or incompatible (with paired donation). Drop me a note (see profile).
