on CNN's "State of the Union" this morning?

Were they onscreen together at any point?

If so, were there any fireworks?

      •  Winograd will lose to Jane Harman (1+ / 0-)

I don't see her radical agenda faring well in a district where the majority of employers are defense contractors.

        •  At the convention in Denver I saw (0+ / 0-)

Andrea Mitchell prepare to interview Jane Harman (at Invesco). They are both very short women, maybe five feet tall, but they were still able to get the podium in the background.

But then, out walked Joe Biden to the microphone. They waited, and waited, and then finally gave up. Mitchell ended up sitting next to me, and I had a pleasant chat with her producer (poor guy!).

'06, Marcy took almost 40% of the vote in the race against Harman.  That was as a nobody, with zero name recognition, with an ad-hoc last-minute campaign.

Compared to her last campaign, the '10 Winograd campaign has had more time, more money, better organization, a higher profile, and a strong anti-incumbent wind at her back.  Who's to say she won't do significantly better than 40% this time?  Who's to say she won't win 50.1% this time?

It's not like I'm guaranteeing a Winograd win, but I truly would't be surprised to see this come down to the wire.

We shall see what we shall see.

        •  Really not "radical" (0+ / 0-)

Just progressive.  Fortunately, the defense contractors can contribute money to Harman, but they don't vote at the polls.  That's why Marcy (my spouse), who's run a hell of a grassroots campaign, raising over $400K in completely non-corporate contributions, and has been all over the radio, has her TV ads and mailers, and has been hitting spots Harman fears or disdains to tread, has a real shot to take this thing.
