    which is not based on rationality. I say this as a believer who chose her faith because it didn't require me to hate or feel disgusted by anybody.  But I did find it fascinating that homophobia is tied (in America) with fundamentalism, Christianity, church attendance and right-wing authoritarianism--suspicions I've had for years, and it's good to see those suspicions are validated.

    The last time we mixed religion and politics people got burned at the stake.

      ...,2 communist countries, persecuted and still discriminate officially against homosexuals.  These were and are authoritarian communist countries.

      I guess it has to do with a totalitarian authoritarian view of the world.

        pretty much religiously based.  Whether you're authoritarian philosphically (and, honestly, I don't thinjk most of the leasers did anythign but pay lip service to communism; they were after power) or religiously, the result's the same. Hee, we have to deal with the religiuous form.
