    if they could, top kill would have worked.  

    Want a really scary tidbit?  BP represented in a regulatory filing that if the kill well they are drilling suffered a similar blowout, they risked dumping 240,000 barrels per day into the Gulf.  Source

    Nobody has been able to answer my question.  If one blown well spews a maximum of 40,000 bpd (8 times what BP actually claims), how do two blown wells total 240,000?

    They're lying through their teeth about the pressure behind that reservoir.  It's far greater than anyone wants to admit.  They've tapped into hell itself.

      Because the one well isn't spewing all it possibly could due to the BOP having some effect.   Plus whats left of some cement plugs and a production casing.

      If the pressure was enormously higher, the BOP would probably be shrapnel.
