  •  Would Planned Parenthood also fit (6+ / 0-)

    those rules?

    Asking because I truly don't know and it seems odd that the NRA would be the only organization that thie would apply too. I absolutely believe in a woman's right to choose.

        ...from what I can tell, they just need members in 50 states.  How "members" are defined is, to me at least, still unclear.

        But they'll never have the kind of money an association like the NRA has.

        Associations are a different legal entity than a not for profit or a religious institution is.  In fact, the not for profits are barred from lobbying and political action - that's why they have separare PACs - Planned Parenthood has a separate political action committee.  When you give to their operations, you are not contributing to the political activities and vice versa.
