that is most profound aspect of this, namely, as you put it exactly, it is the freakin' "reality of it" ... which is most powerful and compelling ... which is what is most surreal ... massive sea life is dying, entire geographical regions will die ...

and the silent "passion play" of those remote mechanical creatures hold the lifeline on a naked threat, the barest thread ... it is surreal how real the magnitude of those things ripples out into the world at large ... yeah, it matters, and that is why we hold this vigil ~ because it matters ~ it is surreal how much it matters ~

and each time i glimpse those images, or read the verse that describes, or the data that floods from it, or the analysis, a part of me, feels the life of the sea life, the bird life, the life, dying, silently ~ silently dying ~ silent tears ~ yeah, surreal, that is the word for it, because no other word quite describes how so very real, it is ~

~we study the old to understand the new~from one thing know ten thousand~to see things truly one must see what is in the light and what lies hidden in shadow~

tell to the people who question why we are down here, witnessing the unspeakable reality that they cannot come to gripes with.

a part of me, feels the life of the sea life, the bird life, the life, dying, silently ~ silently dying ~ silent tears

A part of me - an ever-growing part of me - also feels "the life of the sea...dying" - but for me this dying, this hideous dying, is doing so, not in a "silent" way, but in a deafening, an ever increasing, deafening way, until it becomes a scream, a roar.

I want to shout, to scream, to roar, in anger, not in tears, to bring this hideous dying to an end, now, or yesterday if it were possible. But for the sake of every remaining living thing, for nature herself, bring this unnessary, unwanted, grotesque dying to an end!
