  •  You know, you might be able to say (0+ / 0-)

that Joe Barton is not taking his marching orders from the oil industry as much as from British politicians David Cameron and Boris Johnson...

    •  The BBC is doing well parroting that this week. (0+ / 0-)

Gesh! Is Zhōngguó Xīnwénshè the only news agency we can depend on to maintain objectivity from government influance now?

As you may guess, my remark was kind of a SNARK.

In China we have 2 basic state run news service:

The main one, well-known internationally, is 新华通讯社 (Xīnhuá tōngxùnshè) or in English, New China News Agency.

The second one is 中国新闻社 (Zhōngguó Xīnwénshè) or in English, China News Agency.

Normally, we joked that the purpose of publishing 中国新闻社 is so people have enough spare paper to line trash bins and things to discuss with strangers on the train.

The BBC is really starting to go downhill and starting run like CNN, 3 stories + one pundit per 30 minutes.
