  •  Much Sadness for you Kristina. (6+ / 0-)

I hope somehow the winds will change and drive this disaster away from St. Andrews and Panama City Beach.

    (((((((((hugs)))))))))) to you, Kristina.

    •  Thanks gulfgal (7+ / 0-)

Your beautiful Apalachicola Bay is in the cross-hairs as well.  They opened up all the oyster beds and are trying to harvest everything they can down there right now.  I'm hoping the winds shift, I haven't checked the weather yet this morning.

are people who barely make a living as it is, so I am glad they opened up the reserved parts of the Bay for them.  Since I no longer live there, I do not have to watch it, but my heart is with these people.

In the meantime, local disaster preparedness and the Riverkeepers are still doing everything they can to protect the Bay and the beds in it.  They have been trying to get the channel from the mainland to the Gulf, the Bob Sikes Cut, closed and they have boomed the west pass at Indian Pass. The area is not wealthy and lightly populated, but they are trying.

I got my fingers crossed for you too.  Like you, I have not slept well lately.  Slow motion disaster is so wearing.

Thank you so much Kristina.  Again, ((((((((hugs of comfort))))))))) to you.

        •  That's it, gg98 -- the slow, impending, (6+ / 0-)

unswerving path of this poison.  We've all known for a long time more or less what path it would take... but the waiting and hoping against hope in the face of the inevitable is just excruciating.

I hope that in most towns this has provided time for quickly executable plans, rather than the malaise of facing the an onslaught you can't prevent.
