    I wonder if ROVs could be used to help capture some of that evidence, photographically or through some other form of recording technology, and perhaps even help to salvage what remains of the Deepwater Horizon?

    One would think this would occur to the powers that be.

    If they cannot raise the rig, they will have to draw conclusions from the information they have. Fortunately they have BP internal memos and the testimony of those on the rig who knew what was done and not done that caused the blowout. Which should suffice legally, but for direct knowledge of what happened to the BOP, casing, etc., it sure would be helpful to have the remains to study. It would cost a fortune I suppose to even attempt to salvage it.
