... focusing in on just any possible loss of jobs in the Gulf oil industry ignores the big picture.

What about all the Gulf tourism and fishing?  What about the global tuna fishing, given the fact that the only Bluefin tuna spawning grounds are in the Gulf and the Mediterranean?  What about the economic impact as the oil spreads up the Eastern seaboard?

And the bottom line is that we're eventually going to have to transition away from oil anyway.  Is there any better time to start a WPA type program to build thousands of offshore wind machines?

The inadequate is the enemy of the necessary.

She is using up too much of the planet's resources. If WE won't stop, SHE will stop us.

Vietnam can handle America's shrimp needs just fine. And Australia has terrific beaches, full of stinging things mind you. LOL.

My guess is that once the shock wears off much of the rest of the world will stop feeling so sorry for America's stupidity in how they manage their coastlines and oceans.

Like Helen Thomas might say, give the land back to its original inhabitants and let the Frenchies go back to France.
