      Well, I can't speak for gentoo or debian, but the other distros - easier program install/configuration would be key.

      Case in point: If you're missing certain dependencies (had this happen tonight) like a lib or whatever - have an option for the user to easily find and PLACE (yo, I can find those damned files, but knowing where to put 'em can be a challenge) the necessary files.

      Better autodetection with peripherals - Mr. Xray has been struggling with getting his CD burner make ISOs and having the computer recognize his USB flash drive.

      I'll think of more...
