The US could easily slash 30% of the Pentagon budget  still maintain an overwhelming military and still outspend the other top spenders combined - especially once you take the EU nations and Japan out of the equation as they aren't going to be sending troops into pipelineistan against us.

What's left of the sane right wing wants a smaller Federal government? Put 200 billion in overseas bases  and unneeded obsolete aerospace into the headlines. We'll still have absolute control of global airspace, the hydrogen bombs and base the overseas troops at home so they spend their paychecks locally. Why do we need Taiwan anyway? No one wants us there and we can fly to the South China Sea in imaginary war games. Tell NATO to make a deal with Karzai and help if they sort it out.

Any talk of shrinking the deficit that doesn't discuss defense spending is just talk. So don't let them talk unless waste, fraud and abuse in the defense budget is on the table first.

(and I know this is ranting at the like minded but Grayson is the only one talking about it right now and I felt like ranting)

If you didn't like the news today, go out and make some of your own.
