Had to let my own knee-jerk reaction fade, and I wanted to listen to different takes on what all this was "really" about. And I have to say, regardless of the broader issues at hand and regardless of the reality of McChrystal's situation that would incline us to be sympathetic, he needs to be fired. He is in a tough, tough spot doing a tough, tough job, and anyone would be fatigued and frustrated and strung-out. But he's still a 4-star general, he's still got a very important job to do, and he's still under oath to serve the president and country and lead the troops. And he has failed miserably and inexcusably at those critical responisblities. If anything his presence is detrimental to troop morale and thus has put our troops at greater risk.

And I say he should be fired regardless of the Tillman case. I think we need to keep the Tillman case and these remarks seperate matters. I don't think it serves Cpr. Tillman or his family properly to exploit his death over this.
