  •  You are naive (0+ / 0-)

First Fatah WILL NOT agree to anything without consensus.

Second.... you leave out the most important part:

Hamas remain isolated, AND ISRAEL KEEPS GETTING SHOT AT!

How fucked up is giving up land for peace, and NOT GETTING PEACE?   How insane is it to help the Palestinians create a state, only to have rockets, mortars, and missiles fired at you.

You have the steps wrong.   FIRST you stop the war.  FIRST you stop the border violence, first you stop the armed warfare.

You don't expect someone to negotiate with a gun at their head.

STOP MAKING STUPID EXCUSES FOR terrorists.  STOP whitewashing rocket fire that is a crime against humanity, stop making stupid excuses for Palestinians, who could have peace at any time.

    •  No. (0+ / 0-)

First you steal the land, then you build the settlements. If the victims of the theft fight back, scream that they are terrorists.

Stir, pour, then repeat, until all the land has been stolen. Then start a war and kick out any victims still left.

First defeat, then deceit, then you're totally in denial (old Egyptian proverb)

      •  Israel did NOT steal the land (0+ / 0-)

Is it your belief that prior to the establishment of the State of Israel an independent Arab Palestinian state existed in its place?

Are you aware that the Disputed Territories never belonged to the “Palestinians” and only came into Israeli possession as a result of the 1967 six day war in which Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon all massed forces at Israel’s border in order to “push the Jews into the sea”?

There is NOTHING in international law (or common sense) that says land should be returned while hostilities continue.

If countries don’t want to lose territory to Israel, then they shouldn’t start wars.  If they want the land returned, they need to stop the hostilities, and accept/recognize secure borders.

        Israel didn't start the war.

        •  I'm talking about what's (0+ / 0-)

going on in the occupied territories right now.

          Theft.

          •  Again, there is no stealing of land (0+ / 0-)

BUT to show how your moral compass is turned around:

Today marks the Fourth year since Gilad Shalit was kidnapped and imprisoned with no contact to his family or friends or visits from the Red Cross.

This alone is another crime against humanity by Hamas.

All the while 1000s of Palestinians in Israeli Captivity receive medication, aid and of course contact from family and Red Crescent.

Your response might again be "it's Israels fault".

Please think about what that means.

            •  No stealing of land? (0+ / 0-)

              goodness gracious!

I'm so relieved to hear that. 30 years in the Mideast and I've been so misled.

Thank you, thank you ever so much for letting me know!

No confiscations? No contrived court cases? No refusal to allow Palestinians to build when they can show title, no expulsions when they can't? No declarations that Palestinian land held in common is now property of the Israeli state? No right of return for Palestinians to land they owned in pre-1948 Israel, but right of return for Jews owning land in the pro-1948 West Bank?

You've save me a lot of unnecessary soul searching.
