tar balls for several years, if there's a miracle and the oil quits in the next 72 hours.

Since my name is Sarah but not Palin, I don't expect a miracle. Since I'm from Texas, I figure this thing could go as long as Ixtoc I pretty easily, and since I'm from West Texas and worked around the Permian Basin oilfields, I'm about convinced BP is still trying to make a buck more than they're trying to shut down the leak -- they have waved off help from other oil companies. Since I believe in Murphy's Law, I also think the thing will get way worse before it starts to get any better.

But because I think Bob Cavnar's pretty smart and I trust Fishgrease, I believe good booming tended properly could save the marshes, if BP would get off its @$$ and hire boom layers and boom tenders -- or get out the way and let the government hire boom layers and boom tenders, and the kill bores will work.

booming is not prole intensive relative to those scenes where lots of people are out there with shovels..it has got to be the number one most efficient use of money and resources..

and the effort there should be multiplies by an order or magnitude.
