  •  but saying that (11+ / 0-)

gives them something else to hide behind.

Because they refuse to move out of their bubble

With all due respect, this is not "it" at all. IT is because the entire institution of the American government is corrupt to the core.

Yeah, we're pissed, but at least WE don't have to make shit up like teabaggers do...

    •  I don't think it gives them something to hide (8+ / 0-)

behind.  I have some sympathy for your view that the whole thing's rotten to the core, for we surely do have plenty of Dems playing the same rotten game.  But.  This is a crack in the Death Star.  We have no choice but to try to change it, because it's the only ship there is out here on the wide, wide sea.
I have no problem whatsoever with the idea of throwing the corrupt Dems out on their butts right after the Repubs.  If anyone's hiding, it's the bought-and-paid-for Dems.  We'll get to them after we get rid of the skirts they're hiding behind.

      •  Alas it doesn't work that way any more (2+ / 0-)

I hear a lot of talk about 'we can change things by electing better Dems' whereas with the way campaign finance and the recent supreme court decision has tightened its grip on corporatism, we are being forced to choose between one of two corporate stooges because those are the candidates that can fund campaigns. It's not happening everywhere of course but the corporate candidates overwhelm the elections so really we are caught in a bind until we can reform campaign finance.

I don't see much in the current set of Democratic senators heading in this direction alas. It's all to do with money. Even those we seem to look upon as the darlings of the Democratic party are simply a few steps away from being turned to the dark side.

We've lost the ideal of government being elected by the people for the people. It's now elected by the people for the corporations.

    •  Disagree. Yet another "blame ourselves" (0+ / 0-)

      comment.

Capitalism thrives on raising funds on assets that have no value.

nevermind that you're 1000% wrong on that, I'm curious how you even get there. This is not blaming US, it's blaming THEM.  Appropriately, even.

They're the corrupt ones. Not me. Not you.
