  •  More Americans in the streets = (6+ / 0-)

more people waking up to the importance of paying attention to what our government is doing.  And who the REAL bad guys are.  Once they cut welfare and food stamps, maybe even the non-voting poor will begin to pay attention.

    •  This I agree with (0+ / 0-)

Americans have become too apathetic about seeking change through protest. unless people start marching in the streets the politicians in DC don't give a shit about what goes on in this country as long as they do what the corporations say and collect their paycheck every month.

The reality is America needs to wake up to this. Most of the current disappointment with things can be spun by Fox News and no impact is made on the right. Hundreds of thousands of people in the street can't be spun by anyone.

    •  They should start taking the TeaBaggers parents (0+ / 0-)

SS and Medicare payments away.  If they are worried about Debt in this country, strip it all away.  If we cannot afford it, we cannot afford it.  Certainly our seniors who lived through the Great Depression once will understand this.

    •  Attend your local 4th of July parade. (0+ / 0-)

I don't understand why Harry Reid didn't have the testicular fortitude to challenge the Repubs to filibuster the jobs bill by threatening to extend the session through the 4th of July holiday if necessary, but since he did not do that, I recommend that we organize a few groups of unemployed people from all of the districts of the Republican senators who voted against the unemployment extension bill (plus Ben Nelson), find out how many of them will be participating in their hometown 4th of July parades, and line the streets with these unemployed people holding signs asking their senator why they cut off their benefits and are now forcing them out of their homes.
