    ...comment containing the slur "Obamabots." I have no problem with people who choose not to HR that slur or the 10,000 other insults passed along on this site every day. But actually tipping/uprating such slurs contributes to the generation of more insults. And the comment in question - whatever its other qualities as honed sarcasm and/or keen analysis - the insult should disqualify it from anybody's "4."

      I shall keep your insights in mind in the future when such considerations apply. It is interesting, however, that this is yet another scenario in which those who have instigated the rules elect to then hide behind them when HR'ing a comment. Does anyone really believe that that word was the reason for such a feeding frenzy, and not the verbiage with followed it?

      I find it ironic that, from their perspective, I was being castigated for the wrong thing and reprieved for what should have been the right one.

      This is what makes blogs fascinating.
