  •  Here's the aweful truth about that (7+ / 0-)

Obama actually did say that in his weekly address this morning, but the MSM only reported the first paragraph. It's the second paragraph which is the real punch. I would like to see him give a prime time address to somehow lay out the truth about what's going on in the senate. Have no idea what the backlash could be or how it would play out.

Still, at a time when millions of a Americans feel a deep sense of urgency in their own lives, Republican leaders in Washington just don’t get it.

While a majority of Senators support taking these steps to help the American people, some are playing the same old Washington games and using their power to hold this relief hostage – a move that only ends up holding back our recovery. It doesn’t make sense.

There will come a day of judgment, and our Republican friends know that. That, Mr. President, is why they are terrified. - Sheldon Whitehouse

...paraphrasing his response, "Some people aren't being nice." Wah.

However, had he said, "the Republicans want the American people to be homeless and unable to care for their families," That would have resonated. Like it or not, the media likes a fight. The Republicans will always lie about the Democrats. So, why not give them something to bitch about that is true and pin the GOP to their obstructionist wall with it?

Then, as the GOP responds about Obama being mean to them, he doesn't respond to their response, he hammers them with how they're watering down Wall Street reform to help their rich buddies. Every time they go to come back at you, you just hit them with another one. Just keep hammering and keep them off balance.

But no, the Dems, as usual, are bringing spoons to gun fights. We've had decades of knowing how that turns out.

The sleep of reason produces monsters.
