    people used constantly.

castor oil!  if you sprain an ankle, wrist, etc., wrap the area in sheet cotton soaked in castor oil then cover with an ace bandage and saran wrap to keep the oil from getting all over everything.  same goes for knees, shoulders, etc.

for cuts, keeps out infections, keeps swelling down and speeds healing.

castor oil is made from the ricin plant, it is a vasoconstrictor - which means it will keep lymph from building up around the injury.

when nimbus danced on my foot, i had a goose egg within seconds. by the time i hobbled back to tack room and wrapped foot with said cotton and castor oil, the pain eased and within minutes was totally gone.  when it started to hurt again, i unwrapped to find castor oil all absorbed into the area, but no goose egg - just a black foot.  kept it wrapped for a week, walked and rode like normal as long as the castor oil was saturated.

for my arthritic fingers, when pain stabs, i dip them into castor oil and the pain is gone within two seconds.

    muscle aches? castor oil packs.

it is totally legal and very effective!  heck, edgar casey called castor oil "palma christi" for the "palm of christ" for it's healing abilities.

soak your whole finger into the oil and it will ease the pain, but that splinter still needs to come out before it gets infected.

castor oil is at most drug stores in the same place as either hydrogen peroxide or in the children's laxative section.  (yep, it was used for that too, ugh! i still remember - BUT, for a tooth ache or sore gums, it kills the pain there, too!  just don't use it long term on tooth aches - bad teeth can and will kill you!)
