  •  I want the reform. However....... (0+ / 0-)

YES, in the meantime, make those worthless bastards actually filibuster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let the American public see what it really means, what it really takes, and how CRAZY the GOP really is.

Can you imagine Bunning, and DeMint standing up all bloody night long to block unemployment bennies for people who can't find a job because our economy sucks. That sort of thing would have to make an impact. I think the Dems would be considered heroes by alot of folks if they did that.

    •  The "2-track" Senate maybe should go back to 1 (2+ / 0-)

track. My reading about the filibuster, it used to be that Senate business came to a halt with a filibuster, and there could only be 1 bill under consideration at a time. But in the late 60's or some time in the 70's, the Senate changed to a 2-track system (actually, multi-track), where the filibustered bill is set aside, and the Senate can get on to other business.

That sounds like good intentions, but the end result of the multi-track Senate is that we now have painless filibusters, and the filibuster has become routine.

GOP: Creating the multitude of problems we face, then paralyzing the Senate.

This was supposed to help get "more done" and instead results in getting "less done".

      •  Oh, that's interesting! (1+ / 0-)

In an effort to speed things up, they may have caused the worst traffic jam....legislatively speaking.     :)

Yea, seems like going back to a 1 track system might help rectify the mess we are currently in. It sure would shine a light on what is happening, who is obstructing and to the amazing lengths they would go to just to stop the the work of the majority side.

    •  Who is going to show it besides C-SPAN? (1+ / 0-)

How many voters watch C-span? Best to reform it, get things done and let those actions convince the voters.
