      If the Democrats ran a real Democrat - not this neoliberal bullshit - in 2012, getting rid of Brown will be easy (though every politician coming out of the Boston machine is treated with suspicion by the rest of us). So yes, it was easy to sit the election out, because Brown is easily defeatable in 2 years time.

      Would the Democrats have been able to seduce 65,000 former Obama supporters to back for Coakley if it were a 6 year term? I think that might be more likely.

      But hundreds of thousands of former Obama supporters would have still stayed home, because Coakley was a corporate welfare-peddling hack, with all the charm of a shark and we're all still so fucking furious at the Democrats for betraying us on the economy, jobs, the wars and the environment.

      Those who can't vote for Republicans stay home when Democrats act like Republicans.
