    It's the red staters voting the party line like Collins, Snowe, Brown, Graham etc.  

    And Manchin of course.  Putz!

      scorn for their antipathy toward human needs, for their lack common human decency, or (specifically in Manchin's case his vacillation and self-centerdness is key, not any voting record).

      Still, right now Nelson is part of the problem, not part of the solution. On that point I disagree with you.

      From my point of view, anyone voting not to extend unemployment benefits in these circumstances is engaging in the vilest form of political calculation and posturing.

      There was a time when this sort of decision was made with no substantive outcry about the cost - as the cost of not so doing was correctly held to be much higher. At such a time, perhaps, this nation was collectively possessed of a conscience.
