between a Jim Demint and a Blanche Lincoln. I'd choose Blanche.

        For example:

Blanche Lincoln forever destroyed herself on DKos by torpedoing the public option.

We'll get it eventually, but we did get the basic bill (already saving lives) to which a public option can be added. Probably a very weak one at first, and then it will improve.

However, Blanche Lincoln voted for the final bill. Without her vote we wouldn't have a bill to improve.

If Jim DeMint had been in her place, we'd have nothing. Blanche Lincoln is voting to extend unemployment benefits, for another example. If we had Jim DeMint in her place we'd have even less chance to get UE extended.

It is better to have a Democrat, even an annoying conservadem, in Congress than to have the place stuffed with Jim DeMints.

imagine having Senate leader Mitch McConnell. Things are moving at a snails pace and are watered down now all we'd get going forward with Mitch is one effort after another to impeach President Obama.
