    to emphasize oil-efficient ways of moving goods and people, so that our oil imports were sharply cut back, would go a long way to improving our balance of payments.  

    We need more and faster freight trains, more and faster passenger trains, and electrified railroads.  We need more rapid transit for commuters, and more buses and trolley buses to help people get from home to rapid transit.  We need electric cars and public parking areas with charging equipment.  If we didn't import so much oil we could keep our money at home.

    Renewable energy brings national security.
