but too bad that the climate is imploding on us and democrats can't take on goliath, energy companies, and save us all.

i like the diarist's good intentions but until democrats save my son from a hellish future and stop kneeling at the feet of corporate america for campaign contributions, i have NOTHING for them anymore, not after they've squandered a 60-vote senate majority.

i could not be more furious with democrats than i am right now.

    •  It is disingenuous to (5+ / 0-)

say that Democrats had a 60-vote senate majority. That's just plain FALSE.  They had 59 DEM votes. Joe lieberman is NOT a Democrat and works mostly with the Republicans. And about 5 of those are very conservative Blue Dogs.

What you should be "furious" at is the record Obstructionism by the Republicans - their absolute refusal to work towards restoring the economy - their desire to see President Obama FAIL at all costs - even if it meant watching millions of people lose their unemployment insurance, blocking bills aimed at saving/creating jobs, forcing the Democrats to be at the mercy of Moderate Republicans and Conservadems just to get some legislation passed. Your anger is misplaced if not hypocritical.

      •  one word: reconciliation (0+ / 0-)

bush used it to pass the bank-busting, country-busting tax cuts.

the fact that dems won't use it with a 60-vote senate caucus (it is what it is) speaks volumes about who they really work for:  corporate america.

and there are an array of words that can be leveled against democratic voters and activists who deny that fact.  let's start with the words "no shame."

i for one won't be fooled twice.

...understand that reconciliation can only be used in matters directly affecting the BUDGET and in specific ways according to the Senate rules mean you should probably learn another word: EDUCATION.

From the sound of it, you've probably been fooled in your life WAY more than twice if you don't even understand how the Senate works.

you just won my vote!  with your supreme wit, i am now IN for voting this november.  who knew that one of obama's vile and nasty supporters would have this effect on people?!  how exciting!

as to reconciliation, just about any law can be tweaked using budget reconciliation.  for example, expanding medicare would have been doable under reconciliation which would have been an acceptable alternative to the public option.

i bet you in your supreme wisdom knew that and you were just being an ass becuase you're an obamabot.

...do you not know that yet? Do you mean to tell me that with all the talk of reconciliation during the health care bill you never once looked up the rules of WHAT IT CAN BE USED FOR?

          LOL

Give me a break - go over to Free Republic, I think that's more your intellectual speed.
