Michael Steele committed the unforgiveable sin in Republicanworld of telling the truth.  It was a novel tactic for him, admittedly, but it earned him even more blowback from his party than his other gaffes.

Saying we've lost is premature, since we are still fighting, and soldiers are still fighting.  You don't show support by saying we've lost and everything from here on is a waste of time.  We are trying to salvage a situation left us by Bush and this Pres, who has always demonstrated that he's a Progressive at heart, is trying to accomplish something for the nation he was elected to work for.  Getting up and leaving would accomplish nothing but already wasted lives.
I hope through everyone's bitching we get Palin for President in 2012.  I hope she cuts off everyone's SS and medicare, abolishes the EPA and stops Green energy, bombs England for being Socialist mother-fuckers and sells California.  I hope this because that's what you Obama-haters are going to make happen.

"President Palin?"  Seriously?  Obama is the president, not your boyfriend, and he is thus in line for criticism when we citizens think he fucks up.

        Get over it.

How many lives do you suggest we waste before deciding that the war isn't winnable and isn't worth it? Almost 1200 (Americans) so far. Will 2400 be enough? How about 5000?

Don't tell me what you believe. Tell me what you do and I'll tell you what you believe.

        •  It's war...as many as need be. (0+ / 0-)

I'm a pacifist so argued against this war, in 2001, but lost to 80% of America.  That war was then not prosecuted, though we were still despised for being occupiers, for 8 years.  Now, in an effort to actually accomplish something and rebuild a reputation with Afghanis, soldiers are dying.  That's what would have happened in the 8 years prior if it had been fought without doing Iraq.  That's war and the that's the reason I protest war.  But Americans wanted it, along with Iraq, and now want to cry about the consequence.  Oh well, MB.  Actions have consequences.  Now it makes sense to try doing something to stop the long term consequences of Bush's failure.
