      Real Scary !

    •  Open Primaries (0+ / 0-)

Georgia has open primaries. I voted in the GOP primary, for instance, but I think we can pretty much take it for granted that I won't be voting that way in November.

    •  I sent in two different voter registration change (0+ / 0-)

forms, first in March when we moved from Cobb County to Floyd, and then again in May when it was clear they had not recorded the first one I'd sent. And, guess what? That one didn't get recorded either.

I wound up having to request an absentee ballot from Cobb County so I could vote, putting down my old address as my new address and signing with some trepidation because of the harshness of the warning about untruthful information on the form. But the Floyd County voting registration person I spoke with by phone said I could do it so I could vote in the July 20th election.

I checked "Democrat" on my voter registration form both times I sent it in. Maybe I should have checked the unaffiliated box instead. I do have to wonder why TWO different registration forms were never processed, when I was extremely careful to fill them out perfectly correctly.

I really do think crooked shit happens here in Georgia that keeps the Republicans on top. This is not the first time I've had weird stuff happen around voting.
