I have heard of write ins using stickers so they don't have to write the name in.  I don't know if that is legal in MI or not, but it would be worth investigating.

In any case, stickers would be ideal for giving a memory bump.  They are very cheap to make by the thousands.  Pass them out and tell people to stick the sticker on their steering wheel, telephone, front door... anyplace that will prod them on voting day.

Mrs Deadhead was successful in getting on the general election ballot as a write in after NOBODY filed as a Dem against our odious State Assembly incumbent.  She got almost 30% in the general... but at least he had an opponent.

    •  Yeah, we talked about doing stickers... (0+ / 0-)

Unfortunately, there's two problems with that:

      1. It's legal, but up to the discretion of each individual clerk--and you have to get official approval beforehand, which takes too much time (Lance had very little time to scramble his campaign together)
      1. There's a risk of the ballots getting jammed in the scanning machines depending on the model and what type of paper is used.

However, he does have a nice simple lit piece that includes the write-in samples on the back, which should help (we hope...)
