    Thanks for this rb137 because many Americans are still not aware of the terrible cost of our collective addiction to oil. With the gulf photos somewhat limited or censored I fear the impact of that spill will not be enough to produce the impetus for the changes we need to be making NOW.

    Some days I wonder what it will take for us to move to green energy and to rethink all the ways that we could live in harmony with our planet. To ignore the Nigerian spills and ecological disasters is to say, "I've got mine and too bad for you (polite version). I hope we are collectively better than that and that we can realize that oil is a global problem and a global disaster.

    Last I looked we only had one planet. We need to stop trashing it for immediate gratification of a lifestyle that is not sustainable. I know I am preaching to the choir here, so I'm off to find folks who haven't yet heard the song of sustainability.
    I'll be sharing this diary with them.
